The driver of the tractor-trailer subsequently lost control, causing the truck to flip over into a ditch. Investigators are currently examining the circumstances that led to this loss of control while the vehicle was heading west on Highway 17. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the collision.
In response to the inability to sell the food, efforts were made to salvage it. A Pacific towing crew was observed the following morning after the close lane incident, and recovery crews are expected to take some time before the westbound lane of the highway can be fully reopened, as they work to free the truck trailer from the ditch. The food, faced with the prospect of being unsellable, reacted by initiating salvage procedures.
